Hey everyone, I currently do not have a stock exhaust on my bike, although I do have it. When I bought the bike used, the previous owner put some sort of scorpion general exhaust on it and it sounds very unusual for a sport bike, so I would like to change it. Does anyone have any good Ideas for an exhaust? Preferably one that sounds like a sport bike this time? Thanks everyone!

I hate to break this to you, but the 2 cylinder Ninja is never gonna sound like other sport bikes that have 4 cylinder engines . The 650r is going to have an 'almost' Harley sound, rather then the hum and ruurrrrr sound that a 4 cylinder bike makes. Listen to this youtube video and see if this 650r with Scorpian sounds similar to yours. BTW: The bike in this video is "normal" sounding with the Scorpian.

Yeah that's the exhaust I have but the guy made a custom frame so that its a sidemount and has a mid pipe. What type of exhaust would be better with this bike? a slip on yoshi or two brothers?

Which ever one YOU like the best. Ask 10 different 650R owners with 10 different brands slip-ons, "Which one is best?" and you'll get 10 different answers.
+1, on the "sport" bike sound comments, the only other "sport" bike the 650R sounds like is the EX500 (also a 180 parallel twin).
BTW, I chose the Competition Werkes slip-on because I like the styling and the fact that it's made in the USA (about 50 miles South of where I live).

I have the Arrow exhaust, fit and finish is great and I got it off eBay for a good price. Sound is awesome.

I'm looking at the Muzzy Exhaust. Does anyone know anyone that has a Muzzy? I heard from a friend that they are "stupid loud"

Do you want "stupid loud"? By the looks of it, it will be LOUD. By the nature of the twin 325cc pistons firing at 180 degrees all slip-ons are gonna be pretty loud. Some of the mufflers have add-on baffles to lower the sound when you want it.

YouTube is your friend Try searching Youtube for 650r muzzy. That should get you a few videos with different style exhausts on the 650.

I'd be curious to see what's on your bike right now. Of the two videos, I like the Scorpion better, deeper tone sounds (more like a Ducati), but like I said, opinions on slip-ons are like belly buttons, everybody's got one.
Out of curiosity what made you decide on the Muzzy?

I bought the DanMoto on ebay 130$ shipped. fits like glove after a few whacks with a mallet but ya man, sounds good, loud and growly. ONly problem i had was to replace the hanger rubber with 1" shrink tube

Has anyone tried taking the exhaust off and riding in your neighborhood? It crazily loud. I think the black muzzy looks the best and sounds the best from all the videos I've seen.

The appearance factor of exhausts is obviously highly subject. I've never liked the look of the Muzzy, it just doesn't look "performance" to me for some reason. A lot of the slip-ons DON'T look like they were made for the 650R, but look like sportbike mufflers that were adapted for use on the 650R. To ME, the Muzzy looks like a stock muffler that was adapted for use on the 650R. I'd like to see what's on the bike right now.

This is my exhaust. Its just too big for me. I prefer one that can go underneath. Won't burn my passengers anymore

WHAWHAWOOIE!!! THAT is UGLY! If I didn't know any better I'd think you just mocked that up to make a point or something, haha. On the plus side it should make doing wheelies a breeze.:headbang:

No cyclesarge, that is actually my exhaust. Now can everyone see why I want a new one?? Why the muzzy would be a much better appeal to not only the ears, but the eyes too?!

Oh no, I wasn't doubting you or anything just making a joke. I can definitely see why you don't like it. It reminds me of the pipes they always had on the "choppers" they had in those cheesy '70's biker movies.
From your description I was picturing a can that would work but with some kind of "mid pipe" added in, but from the picture it looks like the can is too big for a 650R so the guy added the extension to make it "right".
